Each year my family attends the Easter Vigil at our church. It’s a beautiful candle-lit service held on Easter Eve. We belong to the Episcopal Church, which is rich with traditions such as incense, bee’s wax candles, and beautiful vestments. It’s a joyous service, followed by a big feast and party, complete with parishoner Bev Rogencamp’s traditional Lamb Cake! And each year, after the Easter season of the church ends, those who wish to, may take home the Easter Lilies that have decorated the alter and plant them in our gardens. The Cross With Lilies – 984F image is a beautiful rendition of these lilies. The 984QCL Cling set comes with “He is Risen” and “Alleluiah”. Below are two cards made with the Cross with Lilies image. The first is by Carolyn Hurst and the second, by Yvonne Hagane.
Easter is on April 4th this year. So you still have lot’s of time to work on Easter cards. But….I have lots of Easter Cards to show you, so I thought I’d go ahead and get started. Several years ago a fellow stamper mentioned that she had a hard time finding Easter themed stamps. Well you don’t have to tell me something twice (OK – some times you do, but not in this case). Since then Serendipity Stamps has created dozens of stamps for Easter – both secular and non-secular. And one of the most popular of all time is our set of Easter Eggs. I worked with McGill Punches to create these stamps AND a punch to punch them out. Eggs are NOT oval shaped – they’re EGG shaped. You can get the stamps in the large size, which are approx. 2 1/8″ tall – these coordinate with the McGill Super Giant Egg Punch. The small eggs are approx. 1 1/4″ tall (there is no coordinating punch for the small eggs). The eggs are available mounted on a wood cube – but honestly, the best way to order them is unmounted or on cling cushion. Use these links to see the 685QCL Easter Eggs Large Cling Set, the Super Giant Egg Punch, and 849QCL Easter Eggs Small Cling Set. The Egg Punch is available in limited numbers so don’t wait too long to order! Notice that one of the eggs is simply a speckled bird egg – which of course you can use all year long. Now – the designs….

I recently added the new spring line of stamps to the our shopping website – www.serendipitystamps.com. To see them all just go to the New Stamps section. To give you a little inspiration I’ve included two adorable cards created by the Serendipity Stamps Design Team. Both of these cards were created using our new adorable Skunk – 1203G, which you can purchase as an individual stamp or as the cling set 1203QCL. The set comes with both the skunk and the word stamp Scent With Love – 1204D.
The first card was created by Kathie Bailey – wouldn’t this make a great Valentine’s Day card?.

And the second card was created by Amy Cokley. These bright colors are just the thing for a day like today, when all I see out my window is white snow!

Oh – and did I say something about a Quickie Sale? Just in time for a last minute Valentine – get our Heart Deco Cling Set – 969QCL for 50% off – just $7.28 (normally $14.95!).
OK – I admit it – this time of year you’re more likely to find me knitting than stamping. That’s because all my stamping stuff is in the basement – and it’s about 50 degrees in the basement right now! The other night I went to “Knitting Night” at church. Oh it was fun and so inspiring! There were folks there just learning, folks like me who’ve been knitting for a few years, and there were a couple of ladies who are just plain amazing. My friend Nina puzzled through a pattern I’ve had for over 10 yrs and have been too intimidated to try. After an hour or so she’d worked it out and declared, of all things, that it was fun! I have gotten lazy about my crafting. If something is hard I just don’t try it. My excuse is that there is just too much else in life that’s hard. But that’s balony isn’t it? Sure - taxes are hard, figuring out computer problems is hard, and so is raising 3 teenage daughters. But knitting? Stamping? Cooking? They’re not hard – they’re fun! The card below was made by Sue Eldred using 478F – Yarn Basket. Other knitting themed images are 759D Knitting and 850B – Hand Knit By (on the $ sale right now!).
We have a little wooden table on our front porch – it’s where I set my wine glass in the evenings during the summer when I have a moment to sit out there and watch my garden grow. Nothing growing in the garden now! But the other day my daughter took this picture of little bird prints in a dusting of snow on the table. Hopefully the little bird found a stray sunflower seed while stomping around on my table. Below the photo are two cards to remind you that bird stamps are not just for Christmas! Those little guys need to be seen all year round!
The card below was made by Carolyn Hurst using 1137K – Titmouse.

The next card was made by Sue Eldred using 952E – Cardinals and 145E – And Softly Fell.

Well let’s hope so because the last challenge for our January sponsorship of the Gingersnap Creations blog is Numbers. There are many ways that you can include numbers in a project – scrapbook a special birthday, create a calendar or make an anniversary card including the number of years celebrated. Be inspired by measuring tapes, rulers, postage stamps, vintage ledgers or bingo cards … to name but a few ideas. Your options are endless, just include one or more numbers in your creation. Head on over the Gingersnap Creations blog to see some great examples of creative ways to incorporate “numbers” into your designs. Find out how to enter the challenge and check out what you can win! Here’s a great Calendar page created by Design Team member Sue Eldred – those are Sue’s parents – aren’t they cute???? Sue made this calendar using 586F – February, from our set of Illustrated Months. You can get a slightly smaller set of these months in a set of cling stamps or as unmounted stamps – just search for “597″ at www.serendipitystamps.com. Sue also used 154D – The Heart That Loves and 455E – This Is Love - which is currently on our $1 sale!
I thought I was done with posting Valentine cards, but I got two more wonderful cards that you really need to see! This first one was created by Sue Eldred using 1159E Retro Owl and 688C Happy Valentine’s Day.
And just below is a card made by Jennifer Woodward using 419E Heart with You Are Always.
These last two cards in our Valentine extravaganza show how to really make your love POP! The first card is a gorgeous card created by Kathie Bailey for the Gingersnap Creations blog Embossing Powder Challenge. She used 418QCL Victorian Heart Cling set and 319D Happy Valentine’s Day. The second was created by Anya Schrier for the same challenge using the 184E Valentine Postoid and 1079D Will You Be Mine. Check out their blogs, listed at the right for more information.
