Love DOES Grow On Trees!

Here are two pretty cards from  Lynda Benden.  She created the first  card using 693QCL Heart Topiary Cling Set (also sold individually) and the second card using 422G Heart w/ Bow.  Lynda has such an eye for detail – notice the embsooing in the background and the tiny pearls (on the tree and gems (in the corners)?

Serendipity Sponsors Gingersnap Creations

When Sharon Briss asked if Serendipity Stamps wanted to sponsor the Gingersnap Creations Challenges in January I jumped at the chance!  I love this creative and clever blog!    So instead of hosting a Serendipity Stamps Customer Challenge in January, we will be presenting some fun challenges over at Gingersnap every Wednesday in January!   Sharon posted an interview she conducted with me a couple of days ago – it’s better than the “About Us” section on this blog! (Hmmm – do you think Sharon would notice if I copied it?).

This week, we are presenting a theme challenge – Time!  As time is on everyone’s mind this week, we will be turning our time towards creating.

Think years, months, days, eras, decades and moments! You can use an image, a background or a sentiment that invokes the concept of time or try getting nostalgic. Time flies so don’t miss out on joining in!

For those not familiar with Gingersnap Creations Challenges, each challenge is open for just over 3 weeks and you can submit any kind of papercrafting project including cards, scrapbook pages, ATCs, inchies, twinchie, thrinchies, 4×4s, 5×5s, postcard art, scraplings, journals, altered projects, mixed media…anything goes as long as it is papercrafting!  For a complete list of project types and information on how the challenges run, you can visit their FAQ.

So head on over to the Gingersnap Creations blog to find out more about this challenge, to see some samples and enter your time-themed creation!  One winner will be randomly drawn from the qualifying entries on February 2, 2010 to win a Sun Dial Cling Set!  You have until January 31, 2010 to enter!

Milkweeds and Monarchs – and a quickie sale!

For a limited time we have the Milkweed Cling Set – 856QCL on sale for 50% off!  I took this photo the other day of a milkweed pod next to our drive.  It’s all fluffed out and just waiting for someone to pick it and blow all the seeds away!  Did you know that milkweed plants are vital to the survival of Monarch butterflies and that the decline of milkweed plants due to herbicides and loss of habitat could harm the butterfly population? You can purchase Monarch Waystation Seed Kits to help the butterflies.  A kit and a matching card would be a nice present for someone this Christmas! Below you’ll see a beautiful and simple card to inspire you.

Zinnia Season

zinnias

This time of year, when I’ve completely given up on the watering can, I can always count on my California Giant Zinnias to keep up appearances. They carry on, putting on a beautiful display and make me look like a master gardener. Just check out these creations by some master zinnia stampers!

Coneflowers

Coneflowers

I noticed today that the coneflowers in front of my porch are just blooming.  It reminded me that folks who don’t live as close to the prairie may not be familiar with the lowly Coneflower (also known as Echinacea).  It’s a “native prairie” flower and they can put up with any heat or drought.  The center is very hard a bristly, a “cone”, and as the flower matures the petals droop down more and more.  Click the photo to see the Serendipity Stamps version of the Coneflower!

Sue’s Garden Challenge

Daisy - Sue Eldred

Sue was out of town earlier this week and so just got her Garden Challenge card to me.  What I love about her card is that she took absolutely one of the UGLIEST stamps in the Serendipity catalog and made a adorable card with it!   You’re the bomb Sue!  (do they still say that?).
Here’s the stamp – 758E Daisy.  758wiredaisy
