Spring Butterflies

This card is a perfect example of taking a couple of fairly simple stamps and making something absolutely beautiful with them.  Kathie used our Cloisonne Butterfly images (cloisonne is a form of enamelware – often used on beads and other jewelry) which are great for layering and coloring.   She used stickles to “glitterize” the butterflies.  You can buy these images individually, 607D and 606D or as a set of two stamps 608G.  She also used 012G Lace Corner to create a lovely border for her card, which ties in perfectly with the lacy butterflies and the elegant die cut border of her layer.

The Best Antidote for Snow…

…is spring cards!    At least that’s what I keep telling myself.   (Today it’s snowing here in Missouri – again.   So far it looks like about 8″ piled up on the BBQ grill.   Won’t be needing THAT for a while!)   I’ve been sending lots of Easter cards your way the last couple of weeks so I thought I’d change it up a bit and throw in some cards here and there that show our new spring line of stamps.   Serendipity’s incredible design team just completed their February Challenge, which was – you guessed it – Spring!  The card below was created by Lynda Benden.    Lynda used our new Table For Two Cling Set 1200QCL.  Notice that cute awning she put over the table?   Lynda is so creative!

Knitting Night

OK – I admit it – this time of year you’re more likely to find me knitting than stamping.   That’s because all my stamping stuff is in the basement – and it’s about 50 degrees in the basement right now!   The other  night I went to “Knitting Night” at church.   Oh it was fun and so inspiring!   There were folks there just learning, folks like me who’ve been knitting for a few years, and there were a couple of ladies who are just plain amazing.    My friend Nina puzzled through a pattern I’ve had for over 10 yrs and have been too intimidated to try.   After an hour or so she’d worked it out and declared, of all things, that it was fun!   I have gotten lazy about my crafting.   If something is hard I just don’t try it.   My excuse is that there is just too much else in life that’s hard.   But that’s balony isn’t it?   Sure - taxes are hard, figuring out computer problems is hard, and so is raising 3 teenage daughters.   But knitting?   Stamping?   Cooking?   They’re not hard – they’re fun!  The card below was made by Sue Eldred using 478F – Yarn Basket.   Other knitting themed images are 759D Knitting and 850B – Hand Knit By (on the $ sale right now!).

July….and December

I noticed that the orders for Christmas stamps have really picked up, so I can tell it’s July!  Plus, last night I put the finishing touches on the new line of Autumn and Winter stamps (more on that in future posts!).  This reminded me of two great cards Sue Eldred made years ago (before patterned paper and embellishments).  With just a little imagination, one stamp can take on two completely different looks!  On both cards, Sue used American Crafts gel pens to do the coloring.  The white gel pen is really effective!
